Roots & Early Years

Born on September 26, 1955, in the quiet town of Sulphide, Ontario, Steve Taylor was the son of William and Ila Taylor. Growing up in a small and close community, his early years were defined by the simple joys of nature and the values of hard work and integrity. These formative experiences in rural Ontario planted the seeds for his lifelong love of the outdoors and his resilient, gentle spirit that would later guide him across the vast landscapes of Canada.

Steve was incredibly proud of his contribution to the Jasper Skywalk. Building such a breathtaking structure high above the mountainside required the same courage and determination he applied to every challenge in his life.

Adventurer

Much of Steve’s journey was surrounded in the great outdoors where he loved to explore, fish, hunt, and see new places and nature across the country. He had a love for every single destination, lake, mountain, and animal he would see along the way.

Love of His Family

He was always a proud dad of two who taught immense wisdom, exploration, adventure, and love. He loved his family and was wanting to spend as much time with the people he loved. He also loved and cared for his four siblings that live across Canada in different parts of the nation. Best friends also were considered his family.

Heart of the Family

Steve’s greatest pride was his children, Brett and Bianca, whose lives he watched unfold with boundless love and quiet strength.

He was a cornerstone of support, a listener who offered wisdom without judgment, and a father who led by example.

His family extended to his cherished animal companions—his cat Bear, who unfortunately has passed away beside him.

He leaves behind two family cats and his daughter's golden retriever that brought him so much joy. For Steve, family wasn’t just a group of people; it was a community of care that included lifelong friends who became brothers and sisters.

He shared a special bond with the outdoors that he passed down to those he loved, teaching them to appreciate the simple rhythm of life and the importance of checking in on one another.

Steve’s greatest legacy was never built from steel or stone—it lives in the countless lives he touched with his warmth, wisdom, and sincerity. He reminded us all to enjoy the moment before it becomes a memory, leaving behind a world that is certainly better for having him in it.

His spirit continues to guide those he loved, teaching us to give fully, love unconditionally, and stand firmly in what we believe in.
